Ok I bought two of these as im building two computers for a new game. After I got the computer running I was installing software and wanted to know how well the cooler was doing.. and to my surprise at around 15% usage the temp were spiking to 100C ... So I shut the computer down and looked at how well the artic silver 5 thermal paste had spread and it was fine. This was on a core i7 930 at stock settings.. thank god I had not had time to OC as I would have fried my new cpu.. |

I bought a Core i7 960 and decided I needed a new cooler since it was idling around 48c on stock settings. So I bought this and the temps are the same. The cooler itself is terrible. After running P95 for a while the temps kick up to 70c on stock settings. So there is no chance of an overclock. Wish I could return it. |

I was very excited to obtain this product as I checked out a lot of reviews and ordered it anyways despite any bad reviews I have figured out that it is best used if the power adapter is connected up to its own line and not have any other devices or fans connected to that psu rail Also many other people complained of not having the visual display to know the cpu temps in relation to the fan If you take a ysited three or four pin cable and connect it up to the fan and the cooler then the other end to the cpu fan you then can see your rpms in the bios I have even gone to use two ysited cable to have it spliced into my fan controller that displays rpm Before dedicated power line I couldnt achieve significant overclocks Now my 920 easily overclocks to a stable Fourghz with idle temps 95deg Far plus or minus 5 and 140 to 150 deg full load on air alone in a full tower This has taken some time of tweaking before getting to this point without having to upgrade to WC

I have a very warm environment in my computer room. I installed the ChillTec cooler because I didn't think that the cooler that came with my new AMD Phenom II would be abel to keep the CPU cool enough. The lowest temperature that the ChillTec cooler would maintain is 114 degrees farenheit. I put the cooler that AMD included with the CPU on and the temperature dropped to 95 degrees. My computer is in a mid size case. I am going to have to buy a full size case in order to be able to dissapate the heat better. |

originally bought the ultra unit with front panel display for my sister's rig. it's been running for over 3 yrs. haas kept her temps under 32c under load. upgraded my rig from amd duo core to 6 core. knew i needed something reliable for me. when i saw this version knew i had to get it. only issue i have is the unit doew not connect to the mb fan control. post gave me cpu fan warning until i connected a 93mm noctua (very quiet, lots of air) fan to the cpu fan plug. anyone who has problems with this type of cooler probably did not install it correctly. |
