Coupled this cooler with my new AM3 Phenom II - There are certainly CPU temperature issues, and from what I can tell, and previous experiences with building systems I won't be able to overclock with this cooler on an AM3 Phenom II 1055T - Looks great, but otherwise stock cooler would do just as good. |

First of all I have been building systems since one of the first intel chipset 8080 came out, I am a senior comercial and residential network engineer.
I have tested this product thourghly on the 960 EVGA X58 Classified 3 way Sli mobo, a top of the mountain motherboard, 1356 920 processor. It seems to keep the processor below 70c as long as u don't overclock at all. I believe that this was meant for socket series 775, and the AM2. I am starting tests on those sockets and will post later. In the end, don't buy this product if your using a new intel chipset and plan on overclocking. That and for the price, unless u want something cool looking, your stock fan would do a just as good of job. And that's the bottom line form me.

Well, it keeps my I7-980 cool, even when overclocked to 4.5ghz it stays around 93. I have some fan glitches, I don't like the display, it only tells the temperature, it doesn't indicate when the peltier is active. Has a graphic of a guy digging a hole, kinda of pointless to me. I had to turn the cooler upside down to accommodate my ddr3, the cooler is so large it goes over the ram slots on the ausu rampage iii extreme. I just don't trust it to keep the $1000 processor cool, I am probably going to go water cooled. |

over all this is a great cooler so i gave it five stars but one boo boo they say it works with the am3 socket it did not i did not have hardwear for that only the am2 i used the two small am2 brakets to be screwed to the cooler then removed the mb plastic socket got longer screws cut the heads off to make studs and got four rubber door stops i put holes in them slid the door stops over the studs i made then the cooler i used the thum screw springs in the kit and then washers and nuts if there is a will there is a way it looks two cool to send it back and i like the dashboard telling me the cpu temp they sell the silver cooler that fits the am3 so they say but it has no dashboard on it not as cool to look at |

This is a WOW cooler. And the price is crazy. You get a very nice LCD screen that mounts in your DVD drive bay slots to let you know what you CPU is doing. Great for over clocks giving up to date info on temps. I am very happy I got this on my new I7 Intel chip. |

so I purchased this because i wanted to my cpu to run cooler while gaming at very long periods of time. looked great right out of the box. A couple of weeks after it being installed the fan rpm started jumping alot. i mean like 2200 rpm all the way to 4300rpm. tech support told me the thermal guage was failing. sigh. First time i have bought a cpu product that failed. so I am returning do to the failing. it is big though. not as big as most people mkae it out to be. i put it in a storm case with no problems. but having to do it all again. i would not have gotten this item. first ultra product i have ever bought let alone seen. so I say purchase at your own risk. |

I bought this because of the limited space available in my mid-tower, due to internal 140mm fans and mobo placement. I bought this thing knowing that the temps shown on the readout are not correct. When the display says its running at 26C my CPU is actually at 34C. The added benefit of this is that my C2Quad does not go above 29C on the display, so I know that my CPU is not about 40C. That's not bad, especially given the limited room in my case for CPU heat sink. When this item arrived I took apart the top of the unit and modified it a little, so it wasn't as flimsy. I connected the fan connection to the mobo and set it in the BIOS to run 100% all the time. If the fan goes out it won't be that hard to replace the fan, at that point I'll upgrade the fan. The mounts to my mobo were a little tricky, I took the springs off the screws for the mount, to get it to work.
When you purchase this thing, DO NOT trust the readout of temp, check your CPU temps with BIOS of other software. |

I owned the Phenom II 955 BE (Quad core) and this cooler worked very well for that. However, I just recently bought the new Phenom II 1090T (Six core) and with a slight overclock from 3.2 to 3.6ghz, this cooler cannot keep the processor cool at 100%. No matter what I do it still hits upwards of 82C(180F). If you plan on getting the new six cores, don't get this. |

Like other Ultra products, the features are great and the durability is poor.
The fan died within 1 year and was replaced with another ultra fan which lasted...tada...one year. Buy Thermaltake and forget about it. I turfed it after the Ultra PS I had died in 18 months.
Bottom Line: Choose more wisely. |

This cooler is sweet bought it for 775 p4 extreme 3.73ghz standard clocked no over clock. Also to lechumbl nice oc 3200ghz CPU, that's a new record I think someone was able to get their CPU frequency to 3.2THz. lol. |
